We Love Bent Paddle!

Bent Paddle Brewing Co. is a relatively new brewery based in Duluth, Minnesota. There are a lot of things we like about this company. Their progressive commitment to the community and environment demonstrates true leadership in their field. Their sustainability initiatives and Paddle it Forward (play on Pay it Forward, very clever!) program make them not only a company with great product, but also great intention. Everything that can be made of recycled or reusable material, is. Cans, PakTech can holders, stainless steel kegs, even their tap handles are made of recycled milk jugs. Their dedication to reducing stress on the environment while creating a quality product is why we support this wonderful company. We also love the name and the marketing. They’ve chosen a paddling theme and stuck with it, which is something we and likely most Minnesotans can appreciate. Canoeing is special, a simple and elegant way of traveling. They’ve brought the grace of the canoe to a beer company and somehow managed to create products as smooth as a canoe gliding through the lake. My personal favorite is the Black. I’m big fan of dark beers, even in the summer when it seems like a lighter beer would be more appropriate. The richness fills your taste buds and leaves you wondering if it’s even worth ordering anything else ever again. The 14oESB is also a great one. It’s smooth and fantastically bitter, perhaps one of the ultimate backcountry beers to enjoy after a long, hot day on the water. Last, but certainly not least, we love their Paddle it Forward program, which aims to support organizations that are about wilderness conservation and outdoor recreation. They want to get people outside, and we’d highly recommend taking a look at their website for an impressive long list of groups they’ve supported. We cannot thank Bent Paddle enough for believing in us and helping us “bend the tradition” by showing that strong women are an important part of this otherwise male-dominated sport.

Enjoy your 4th of July weekend with a cold Bent Paddle beer! Also, huge shout out to Matthew from Bent Paddle for the awesome schwag!
